Supported Audio Devices
Section titled “Supported Audio Devices”MZAP works with three types of audio output devices:
DirectSound
Section titled “DirectSound”- Widest compatibility — works with any Windows audio device
- Higher latency than WASAPI/ASIO
- Suitable for background music and non-critical applications
WASAPI (Default)
Section titled “WASAPI (Default)”- Low-latency, exclusive or shared mode
- Recommended for most installations
- Built into Windows — no additional drivers needed
- Lowest latency — designed for professional audio
- Requires ASIO-compatible hardware or ASIO4ALL driver
- Best for live audio and broadcast applications
- Supports multi-channel input and output

Internet radio streams (MP3, AAC, OGG) are also supported via URL.
Network Requirements
Section titled “Network Requirements”- Local use: No network required — MZAP runs entirely offline
- Internet radio: Requires internet access for stream URLs
- License activation: Requires a one-time internet connection (offline activation is available)
- MCP integration: Local network only (localhost by default)
Firewall
Section titled “Firewall”MZAP listens on port 5000 by default for its REST API and web UI. If you need to access MZAP from other devices on your network, allow inbound TCP connections on this port.
